To each man his own

The biggest mistake of our parents is that they want their children to get more marks, rather than helping them to pursue what they want. Isnt it like denying them the right to the pursuit of happiness?! All in all, it brings frustration and negative emotions to them all their life if they dont get to follow their heart, or even find whats in their heart. Why can't we keep it simple and let each person decide for him/herself. Is social status worth risking children's life?
